University of California Press congratulates Janani Balasubramanian and Natalie Gosnell on being awarded a Sloan Foundations Book Grant to support their development of Undisciplined: Radical Strategies for Growing Artist-Scientist Collaborations.

The Gift has been selected to be part of the Getty Foundation’s PST ART festival, hosted by the Los Angeles Music Center. In addition to the public event and installation at the LA Music Center Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Natalie and her collaborators will help facilitate a preview installation of the piece at Mt Wilson Observatory for high school students and educators. Natalie is an invited plenary speaker at the .Astronomy 12 conference at the Flatiron Institute in New York City.

Natalie is part of a Cottrell Scholar Collaborative team awarded a grant to co-write a book on academic leadership, “Lead Better: Disrupt Barriers and Have Impact”.

The Gift installation at the Fine Arts Center of Colorado Springs at Colorado College is featured in Southwest Contemporary Magazine (“The human experience isn’t much different than that of the sky.”).

February 2023

The Gift opens at the Fine Arts Center of Colorado Springs at Colorado College for a long-term installation through June 2023. The exhibit includes original pieces created by local high school students and educators in response to The Gift and conversations with the artist team.

The Gift premieres at New York Public Library, presented by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

April 2021

Natalie is named a Cottrell Scholar by the Research Corporation for Science Advancement. The Cottrell Scholar Award recognizes outstanding teacher-scholars who are recognized by their scientific communities for the quality and innovation of their research programs and their potential for academic leadership.
